The České Hlavičky Contest
“České hlavičky” is a project aiming at encouraging talented youth, mainly in engineering fields, thus stimulating young people’s interest for engineering and natural science studies, and for scientific careers. It targets high-school students and children in their final years of primary school. It is
organized in a collaboration between the Česká hlava Project, the Prague University of Economics, the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports, the Association for Youth, Science, and Engineering (AMAVET), and the Association for Supporting Talented Czech Youth, as well as our general partners, who endow individual categories of each contest.
Aims of the Project:
Preparing and organizing an annual nation-wide contest for primary school children and high-school students.
Prizes are awarded in 5 categories; category winners are chosen by a jury composed of representatives of associations, universities, and scientific institutions. Each winner receives a financial prize, a diploma, and an original “České hlavičky” award. The winners will also be introduced at a press conference and at a gala soirée, from which a special TV programme will be prepared and then broadcast by the main Czech public TV station.
